The correct alignment of the body in postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayamas) constitute the basis of Hatha yoga as taught. in Iyengar yoga class. The use of supports such as developed by BKS Iyengar (such as straps, wedges, chairs, walls and ropes) allows agrave; everyone, regardless of fitness and physical condition, finding the right orientation in yoga postures. Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga but is distinguished by a rigorous and standardized teaching system.

Iyengar Yoga teachers undergo a very demanding training, and submit to agrave; a rigorous evaluation. Indeed, the latter are able to demonstrate, to verbally instruct each posture clearly. They will know how to implement the necessary supports to maximize the openness and ensure the intelligence of the body.

Thus offering support to beginners, an intensity; additional & agrave; the more advanced student, or depending on the desired effect during the session. The teaching is oriented & oacute; towards gradual and codified progress; but constant, rather than towards quick and accurate results.

Each Iyengar yoga class is a unique sequence, developed by the teacher, who guides the students to a safer progression.
